Let’s get straight to it, shall we? I’ve written at length about my favorite 2025 Trends (which you can also find inspiration for on my Pinterest boards here), and I’ve divided them up into sections. Don’t care about home decor? Keep scrolling. Don’t care about fashion? Onwards! I have tried to cover my bases here to ensure that while you may not be into EVERYTHING, there is something to love for everyone!
Please note that I may make a commission if you purchase items using my links— just a few cents, and sometimes not at all!
Home Decor Trends
If you know me, you know that I LOVE maximalist decor. I LOVE textiles. I LOVE pattern play. I LOVE shiny things. The more personal, the better, and I’m REALLY vibing with the trend on dopamine design,
Dopamine Design is here! More is more of whatever makes you happy when you see it. For me, that is plants in funky containers (think Queen City ‘Crete) and disco balls that send sparkles shimmering across my room. It’s my vintage-looking wallpaper and some prints from Furbish Studio. My favorite thing about dopamine decor is that it’s allowed to be whatever you want it to be. But if you’re curating a personal aesthetic, I’d recommend starting with colors you love and fun textures (my comforter is velvet, ala the incredible Opalhouse x Jungalow collection from Target, and it’s a juicy berry red). I think the most important thing to remember, as Bob Ross said, is that there are only “happy accidents.” So buy that wallpaper (and think of me fondly while you apply it and re-align it- some things never get easier, but they are so worth it!) Vintage thrift your new favorite martini glasses and a cool-as-hell bar cart to put them on. Add the colored pillows! Out with the beigification! Long live the items that bring you joy!
Here’s my dopamine wall, which is still a work in progress!
Also of note, Pantone has made some problematic headlines after making their color of the year “Mocha Mousse.” Why the uproar? Well, because it’s the second year in a row that they’ve made an actual skin tone into a trend. Still, they’re sticking with it, and I personally think a few touches of the color can bring an earthy vibe to a room. Also, it IS the color of the dessert, so I’m throwing a yellow card at the Woke police and deeming it a beautiful choice. You don’t have to color-drench (another trend this year, which features ceilings, walls, and decor all in similar tones) to make it work for you! Just add pieces you genuinely love and enjoy your cozy home!

Gardening Trends
While we’re on the topic of things I love, let’s talk about gardening for a quick second.
Chaos Gardening is so in, and I couldn’t be more here for it. What’s chaos gardening? You may be wondering. No worries, I’ve gotcha. Chaos gardening is taking random seeds (in this case, wildflowers) that are meant to be grown in your growth zone and throwing them like confetti. Mix all the seeds into two bags: one with larger seeds and one with the tiny guys, Now, give them a decent chance at survival (it’s still gardening, after all) with a layer of fertilizer, and rake it out nicely in a sunny spot. Now throw the larger seeds wherever your heart desires, followed by the tiny ones. Add another thin layer of fertilizer over them and ensure they’re getting plenty of H2O (especially if it’s dry where. you live). Now, let the madness ensue. With any luck, you’ll have a plethora of beautiful, random, overgrown-looking flowers overflowing from your garden beds or containers in a few weeks! This trend is not for perfectionists or HOA Karens but rather for those who don’t mind (or rather enjoy) an ethereal wonderland of wildflowers right in your own yard.
Fashion Trends
Up next, it’s all the frills and coquette energy from 2024 but niched even harder into getting all Dolled Up for 2025.
Dolled-Up Aesthetic: Imagine you are a Polly Pocket or Barbie or whatever kind of doll you played with as a child. Now, 100x the size, and wear it! I’m talking gold lockets and charm bracelets. Bows in your hair and on your sleeves. Frilly socks with ballet flats. Oversized cocktail jewelry brought out for everyday wear. Finding your signature perfume. Wear blush and mascara, even when you’re not leaving the house. It’s all about feeling dolled up, which can come down to self-care as well. Are you eyeing the silk pillowcases from Kitsch? Are you dreaming of learning to fishtail-braid your own hair? Dreaming of thrifting a beautiful tea set? Now is the perfect time!
Here’s my guide to playing dress-up!
Fisherman Aesthetic: If you’re a fan of wearing your wellies with rolled-up (or cut-off)) overalls, this trend may be for you. If you’re into bright reds, yellows, blues, and greens, then consider this your cue. Bring out the knit wool sweater with the lobsters on it, and bring out your favorite Maine-Esque attire (linen pants: decidedly in, after Labor Day, of course). This can more broadly be imagined as a jump start on summery attire. Wear your cardigan tied around your neck, break out your boat shoes, and get after it. Or them (the fish,) I suppose. Whatever you do, have fun with it. That’s the point of fashion, after all.
Here’s my guide for all fisherwomen (or those who merely like the aesthetic!)
Other random things that I am declaring in:
White hot nail polish (anytime)
Doubling down on your favorite perfume and learning to layer to complement it
“Less is more” skincare routines
Treating yourself to Chik-Fil-A Peppermint milkshakes (THE BEST)
Vision boards
I am also predicting a drop in Instagram usage because we are TIRED. We want self-soothing affirmations and beautiful images that we can save to our boards for the future. This is why I’m making a wild (and I mean truly, wild) take and saying that 2025 is the year that Pinterest will become more than simply a wedding-planning destination and become more mainstream than other older platforms.
Check out my personal vision board for 2025 below!
So that’s that. Cheers to 2025! May it be your best yet :)
That was fun❣️👍🏼🎶🙏🏼🥰🫶🏼
